MISU MISU (EP)
Surreal, fuzzy, and full of pulse, MISU MISU is the new six-track EP from Miami rock trio The Zappe Cats, a ride through heatwave dreams, restless hearts, and playful chaos. Somewhere between a hallucination and a garage jam, the EP blends raw riffs, crooked grooves, and melodic hooks with lyrics that feel like instinctual poetry.
There’s humor and strangeness: a love song from a cat (Catnip), a paranoid howl in a canine dystopia (Dogpunk), but also motion and myth. Black Cat slips between worlds, part omen, part mirror, whispering in two languages and guarding something just out of reach. Good Time drifts across shifting tides, and Miles rides on rhythm, tension, and release.
Built on heat, impulse, and weird love, MISU MISU runs on its own strange engine, feral, melodic, and alive.
ABOUT US
The Zappe Cats are a Miami-based band blending alternative rock with punk energy, melodic songwriting, and flashes of post-punk texture. Formed in 2023 by Luis Irán (vocals/guitar), Lucas Paredes (bass), and Ozzie Perez (drums), three Venezuelan musicians who made their mark back home before starting fresh in a new city. For live shows, they were supported by guitarist Fernando Salinas. With roots in Venezuela’s rock scene and a drive to keep creating in a new context, The Zappe Cats are both a continuation and a reinvention; a way to stay connected to their voice while starting fresh. Their sound is shape-shifting and direct, moving between tight rhythms, distorted edges, and moody textures.Since their debut, they’ve become a consistent presence in South Florida’s independent music scene, performing at venues like Gramps, Respectable Street, Kill Your Idol, and Propaganda. Following their 2024 debut album Smells Like Caged Kitty, the band released their new EP MISU MISU on July 18, 2025; a surreal, fuzzy ride of raw riffs, crooked grooves, and lyrics that blur instinct and myth.
